Fitness-key to life
Its amazing as to what fitness does to improve the quality of life. What starts off as a mere goal to lose weight becomes more than just bringing down your fat percentage or inches. It enhances your other aspects of life as well.
Few weeks ago, post my illness, I joined a boot camp which focuses a lot on flexibility, strength training and the core. Started by our trainer who is an ex army person and national level athlete, it was a wonderful opportunity to take our fitness levels to a notch higher. It was time to build our endurance beyond the closed environment of gym sessions. Conducted thrice a week, each day, our workout gets interesting and challenging, surprising us to the limits of what we can push.
As time progressed, not only did we build our stamina levels, but it made us more energetic and competent to handle our work lives s well. Working out early morning in the fresh open air, is a cure by itself. It brushes those blues carried from the previous day's stress, rejuvenates us for the entire week and helps us deal with day to day affairs much better than before.
Its a pleasant change from the cramped gym environment. Fresh sea breeze blowing on to our faces, the greenery all around, morning dew, cats walking around and sometimes pause to watch our workouts;it sure works as a healer. It somehow gives us our space from technology which we are hooked to all day long. Be it Facebook, twitter or our smart phones. That one hour helps us focus on just ourselves. More than the exercises, fitness does tend to teach one a lot more. Concentration, perseverance, determination, discipline and most importantly the ability to handle any hurdle/obstacle that comes your way.
Endurance and strength comes from within. This is showcased especially in marathons or competitive events, where the mental strength plays a vital role to help one reach their goal. Therefore when I say Fitness is the key to life, its true as it enhances the body, mind and soul.

I know you are a fitness freak and that you need to be one as you take part in marathon races and other arduous sports. It is good to hear that your trainer pushes you to incredible limits in the exercise but as a father figure would advise you to keep in mind your limits and not unduly overstarin.
