Independence Day speech
It took many wars and lives to achieve this magical moment. National leaders like Mahatma Gandhi held several marches and brave soldiers fought hard to strive for this day. So what does freedom mean to all of us? It means the ability to love one and all equally without any bias. It means being free from evils like anger, hatred and violence which destroy humanity. It involves giving respect to our fellow citizens, country and most importantly our National Flag which stands proud for millions to see.
Today is that golden day in History where we pay a tribute to our National leaders and heroes who have attained this joyous moment. It is a day where we stand united just like the three colours on our flag bounded by the Chakra of integrity and compassion. Today is the day where we do not ridicule or fall prey to racism of any form. It is the day where we do not look at one another as a Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi or a Bengali, but as one proud Indian. Similarly we do not look at our country being divided into states by as one beautiful nation.
So what does Independence Day actually mean? It means recognizing our potential for growth and to emerge as a developed nation some day. To recognize and utilize our talents in a manner which will enable us to continue making our mark on the globe. Despite our numerous problems like the ever increasing traffic and the crowded streets, it is the feeling of pride with which we look at our country. Independence day my dear friends, is standing together as one united nation, holding our heads high and getting ready to salute our National Heroes.
